Sportster Rear Turn Signal Removal. Small mod I did on my 04 Sportster to make the rear indicators look better and it didnt cost anythingI havnt seen anyone do this so thought I would share. Can i just cut the wires tape them off and tuck them up somewhere. Remove the outer rear fender strut with the turn signal and its wiring connector using a 14-inch Allen wrench. You should just be able to unplug them the rear. When the Sportster rear fender hardware is completely removed the rear fender is lifted up and away from the motorcycle.
Locate the hex screw and turn signal mounting stud hex nut that secures the and turn signal assembly to the inner fender.
Pull the turn signal and its wiring out of the strut cover. Remove the outer rear fender strut with the turn signal and its wiring connector using a 14-inch Allen wrench. Remove the screws from the tail lamps lens using a Phillips screwdriver. Installation is the reverse of removal.
