This could be as a result of the light indicator being in sleep mode. Firstly press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds.
There is indicating light in the Brita filter.
Take a butter knife or some other similar tool and wiggle out on the sensor to release the sensor. Firstly press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds. Now the question arises how to reset. It is just there to imply when it is time for you to amendment the filter. Rinse the whole filter housing off. Try pressing and holding the reset button for 5 seconds then release.
